New England Illustrators to Exhibit Work

Once again, Putnam, CT is working hard to recreate itself and to prove that even in lean times, arts and culture are an important part of maintaining local economic stability and growth.

On Friday, July 3rd, several downtown galleries including Arts & Framing, Gallery by the Falls, Silver Circle Studio and Sawmill Pottery are organizing their first collaborative Gallery Stroll, an art and gallery event around Main Street to celebrate the local artistic community.

The town and surrounding area have a history of being the home of many accomplished illustrators and artists alike. This event is an invitation to see the work of many of these talented artists who will be featured at the galleries. It is also an opportunity to meet several of New England's premier illustrators at the show opening /artist reception at the Silver Circle Studio from 6-8pm. These illustrators include Rob Dunlavey, Kim Rosen, James Kaczman, Lauren Minco, Boris Savic, Alan Witschonke, Dave Joly, Eric Spencer and Anthony Foronda.

Live music, poetry readings, food, art displays, and art activities for children and adults are planned at various times and locations during the event.

Once again, the town of Putnam is embracing change as a means to promote its unique appeal. Proud business owners and citizens continue to use the powers of teamwork, shared vision, and creativity to establish its identity as a destination for local and tourist populations.

Activities will include things for adults and children to enjoy. Face Painting, personal illustrations, and art exhibits by local artists and several downtown galleries~
Plenty of great restaurants line the downtown streets and complementary refreshments will be at each location.
