Description: | Can meditation improve high blood pressure, anxiety, depression, or pain? If a doctor told you to meditate, would you hesitate? Join the Shrewsbury Public Library and Matthew Raider, MD to learn how meditation can have a profound effect on your life. Dr. Raider is a clinical physician and coordinating director of the Geriatric Teaching Program in Family Medicine at Middlesex Hospital in Connecticut. As a physician and long-time meditator, he has a strong interest in meditation and its relationship to health and disease prevention/treatment. Dr. Raider has lectured extensively on the subject in hospitals and other venues in the United States and Canada and recently spoke at the United Nations.
