Description: | Frederick III, first Habsburg Holy Roman Emperor, like Charlemagne before him, wanted to be crowned by the Pope in Rome. Scenes from Frederick's coronation were commemorated by the Florentine artist Scheggia (younger brother of Masaccio) on a cassone. If you wonder what a cassone is and why these scenes are important then you should participate in this Zip Tour with docent Mark Mancevice. | |
