Description: Announcing the 2022 Michael True Memorial Reading featuring Jonathan Blake

Poet, English professor, activist, musician, Jonathan Blake has been a fixture of the Worcester County Poetry scene for more than three decades. His voice, contemplative and liturgical, provides a needed antidote to the pell-mell world in which we are so often embroiled. As he writes of a group of homeless men standing before a winter bonfire in one of his poems, “This is the America we have/Forgotten: Ragged angels of the land,/They wonder why they/Have been forsaken.” Jonathan makes his home in central Massachusetts along the Quaboag River. Bring a friend to the reading and let Jonathan Blake’s language restore your vision, repair your heart. Co-sponsored by the Human Arts Series and the English Department.
