Description: We have the tools already: experiences, emotions, insights and language. Poetry gives us voice. Sometimes we go deep, delve into an incident or memory we had feared and bring it into light. Sometimes there is so much joy that music sings from the page. After a few short exercises to get started, we'll read some wonderful poems, talk about craft, and open to each other's voices. Come write! Susan Roney-O'Brien earned her MFA at Warren Wilson College and is the author of five poetry collections. She hosts monthly poetry readings, teaches workshops and coordinates the Stanley Kunitz summer writing series.
