// AGAINST THE GREEN //

Against the Green features the collaborative expression of Penny and Dave Johnson, partners in life and song. Combining sounds of traditional american folk with the experimental nature of our times, the duo presents soundscapes and poetry that speak to tradition inside all of us, while reflecting on who we are in the present. Heartfelt harmonies and melodic textures weave together to create a fabric that is unique to the ATG sound, begging the listener to simplify and be present.

// THE PROMISE IS HOPE //

Folk that makes you feel stuff is at the heart of what Ash & Eric LEsperance create through their collaborative indie-folk project, The Promise is Hope. Their music marries two distinctly talented songwriters whose sound draws from the deep and vast well of the roots music tradition. Ashleys airy and intoxicating tone (think Alison Krauss) blends beautifully with Erics sweet, deep voice (think Cat Stevens). The two artists complement each other in every respect. With tightly woven harmonies, two acoustic guitars, and intimate songwriting, the pair presents a beautifully moving, inspired & connected set. Their authentic and easy stage presence coupled with personal anecdotes are the icing on the cake, creating a show thats not to miss. PopMatters says, It is folk music, but folk that doesnt find any quick or easy comparisons. Instead, it might be said that the LEsperances have found their unique path within the storied tradition.
