Description: Georgia artist Oyindrila Basu will be on the 1st floor of the library on November 2nd from 15 to meet patrons and answer all of your questions.

Her art will be on display throughout the month of November

Oyindrila Basu is born and brought up in Kolkata, India, where she has had her first connection with Fine Arts at the age of 3. She is a Bachelor in Fine Arts from Sarva Bharatiya Charu Kala Mandir, one of the recognized institutions of excellence in India. She has studied portrait, landscaping, still-life and contemporary arts in various media. She is also learned in fresco, tie and dye, stencil and sculpting. She worked with oil pastels, pencil and charcoal and water color, but currently focuses her works on oil paint. She is also trying her hands in acrylic. Her work was selected among the top 34 works (in all media) from all over USA, in the global online Art Competition/Exhibition, Together in the Dark. Oyindrila focuses her works on Hindu mythology, folk tales, cultural narratives and legends. Her work often mingles the real and the imaginary world of stories and myths, the Divine and the Human.
