40 Below Summer came together after drummer and Peruvian native Carlos Aguilar met singer Max Illidge in a band named Alien. Joey D'Amico later joined the duo playing guitar. Pete Savad joined soon after playing bass at first, then moving to guitar with the addition of Jordan Plingos on bass. The self-released Side Show Freaks (1999) was recorded with these lineups at their rehearsal location in the Music Building, NYC. Savad left the band as they got close to signing their first record deal. Moving Plingos to guitar, the band added Steve Ferreira who was soon replaced by Puerto Rican-born Hector Graziani on bass. Soon after, Rain (2000) was self-released.

In 2013 New Hampshire based groove metal band Death Rattle self released their debut album Mans Ruin. While it featured a low-fi production caused by limited studio time, the record served as a striking introduction to the fist-in-face outfit that channeled the musical styles of their favorite bands, Pantera and Lamb of God into sharp taloned songs that dug in and never let go.
Shortly after the release, along with playing many regional dates, Death Rattle entered numerous competitions to land dates on major festivals such as Mayhem fest, Summer Slaughter, and New England Metal & Hardcore Festival. After unanimous victories and successfully landing all of the dates they competed for, their overwhelming domination disqualified them from future competing. It didnt take long for Death Rattle to move from an unknown local act to becoming universally respected in the national scene.
"Fans of At The Gates and Darkest Hour, you want this. If the blistering main riff doesnt induce chair-moshing right away, just wait for the arena-ready harmonized leads once the guitar solo shows up. The tracks breezy 4 minutes blow by in what feels like half that time even as Im writing this, Ive hit the replay button quite a few times already. Its just one of four tracks on the bands upcoming EP, 'The Vision,' and every minute of that release rips just as hard." - Metal Insider
Haydee Irizarry - Vocals
Cody Michaud - Guitar
Mike Meehan - Guitar
Cam Hunt - Bass
Dan DeLucia - Drums
Since its origins in the 80s, thrash has undergone quite the revitalization, melding with other metal sub-genres to become a beast quite unlike the one in its heyday. That said, the sheer number of bands attempting to emulate successes has also watered the scene down, creating uninspiring carbon copy acts. Its remarkable, then, that a young band from Pennsylvania named Dissentience can make the genre sound fresh in 2018, with a style that already screams signature on their début EP
Guitar/Vocals - Connor Valentin

Bass - Sean Langer
