Description: The final Main Stage concert of the season presents a set of musical memorials: Schuberts Variations on Trockne Blumen adapts one of the last songs from his great songs cycle Die schöne Müllerin. His D-minor String Quartet repurposes, in its slow movement, another of his lieder, Death and the Maiden. In between comes Beethovens Ghost Trio, so named for its mysteriously-scored central movement.
Be sure to come early for our popular pre-concert talk 1/2 hr. before the show, led by Rohan Gregory - it is not a talk, but an experience!
