Description: 03-073 Introduction to 3D CAD; the SolidWorks Way 2017

Prerequisite: Basic understanding of mechanical components, some drafting
technique, and computers

This course is a bare bones approach to learning 3D CAD using SolidWorks. A brief history of CAD will be introduced, as well as the SolidWorks format, interface, options, tips, etc. You will learn how to create 3D parametric models using sketch geometry and basic 3D model functionality. If you have never used 3D CAD or have limited knowledge, and want to learn more, then this is the course for you. (Maximum number of students: 12) 10 classes/30 hours

Glen Lepage is a graduate of Bay Path, and went on to get his Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from University of Massachusetts, Lowell. Glen currently works at Primetals Technologies in Worcester, MA. Primetals is an engineering and OEM equipment supplier for clients in the ferrous and non-ferrous metals industry. Glen is an Engineering Product Owner responsible for quenching and material handling equipment as well as the companys CAD administrator supporting Solidworks, AutoCAD, and the various PDM platforms. Glen has been with the company for 24 years and has been using Solidworks since 2005.
