Description: The Kendricken Memorial Lecture will feature Lina Maria Giraldo, a Colombian-born, Boston-based artist focusing on interactive storytelling towards social change. With a diverse body of work ranging from digital educational tools, public installations, and screen-based computer-generated work, she explores the questions of being Latino, the impact of mankind on our surroundings and the power of collective storytelling. This annual lecture series honors the memory of the late David Kendricken, a unique and creative film/video student who graduated in 2013. Kendricken is recalled as an extraordinary individual, whose prodigious energy fueled a boundless curiosity. Foremost among his many passions were film, music, and literature. The entire campus community is invited to attend this event.
