Description: Take our new Classical Indian Dance series, Fridays, 12 noon-1 pm, October 19, 26; November 2, 9, 16, 30
Our instructor will be Ms. Sayali kulkarni.
Ms. Kulkarni earned a college degree(in Mumbai)in Kathak and has five years teaching dance experience. She is graciously volunteering her time and expertise to share this beautiful art form with all of us!
In her own words Kathak, one of the ancient dance forms of northern India, is known for its rhythmic footwork, dizzying spins, grace and storytelling. The truly vast repertoire comprises poetic dramatic and pure dance.
About this Beginners Course:
Classes aim to ground students in technique through basic footwork (Tatkar), movements, spins as well as technical Compositions. Students will learn the basics of Kathak Dance and its terminology.
