Description: Award-winning poet and publisher Jan Freeman will hold a poetry reading and career talk on Tuesday, April 25 at Miller Hall. The poetry reading will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. with the career talk from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Miller Oval. Freeman is the author of a new collection of poems called Blue Structure, which has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Her book Simon Says was nominated for the National Book Critics Circle Award), and she is also the author of Hyena and Autumn Sequence. She is the recipient of the 1993 Cleveland State Poetry Center award and was a contributing editor of the American Poetry Review for 25 years. Freeman directs Paris Press, which she founded in 1995 to publish groundbreaking yet overlooked literature by women. She lives in Western Massachusetts.
