Description: The Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System  Central Library welcomes Historian in Heels, Dr. Karcheik Sims-Alvarado for a discussion of her latest publication, Atlanta and the Civil Rights Movement: 1944-1968. The book presents a well-researched pictorial history and a stunning visual record of the Modern Civil Rights Movement in Atlanta, and the courageous men and women who made it possible.

A book signing will follow the program. Copies will be available for purchase.
