Description: Civil Disobedience. Honor. Leadership. Legacy. Responsibility. War. These are just some of the themes explored in Shakespeare’s Henry IV Part One. It follows the story of the disaffected Prince Hal and his partner in crime Falstaff, as he faces the first great test in his ultimate ascent to the throne of England – namely a full scale rebellion against Hal’s father King Henry IV - led by the dynamic and fiery Hotspur. In Clark University’s production, women will play the majority of the roles. Fast and furious, raunchy and riotous, triumphant and tragic, Henry IV Part One is one of Shakespeare’s most exciting plays, featuring some of his boldest, brightest and most unforgettable characters.
