The Worcester World Cup(WWC)is far more than a soccer tournament. It's a celebration of Worcester and a safe, friendly family event that people look forward to all year. Come with your family, bring a vuvuzela or horn if you have one, and prepare yourself for the festivities.
This year's celebration & tournament will again be two and a half-days.
The WWC began with the goals of bringing immigrant communities together to celebrate, work together on projects that will improve our City and communities, and to develop a stronger collective voice.
* The WWC hosts 20 Worcester immigrant-based teams, 350 players, and hundreds of fans
* International flavor with international music and authentic food vendors from Liberia, Mexico, China, Jamaica, Ecuador and many others
* Past years' teams have included Albania, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Ghana, Guatemala, Vietnam, Iran, Iraq, Burma, Ireland, Jamaica, Kenya, Liberia, Macedonia, Portugal, Senegal, Togo, and USA
* Children's Games, moonbounce, skill-building, family entertainment
The WWC is organized by a 20+ volunteer tournament organizing committee to support Cultural Exchange Through Soccer a neighborhood-based soccer program at Elm Park Community School.
