Description: | A staged reading of a new play about the Armenian genocide first produced in 2012 at the Modern Theatre in Boston, by Boston Playwrights' Theatre in association with Suffolk University. Playwright Joyce Van Dyke based the play on the story of two friends, her Armenian grandmother and the mother of Dr. H. Martin Deranian Clark alumnus, '47 of Worcester. Seven actors play a cast of over 20 characters in this dream play that spans a century and ends in the future. There will be a Q&A directly after the reading. This event is sponsored by Clark University's Theatre Arts Program, Strassler Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies, Higgins School for the Humanities, and the Departments of History and Sociology. Directed by Judy Braha. For more about the play, visit www.deportedplay.org. For reservations please call 508-793-7356 or email clarkarts@clarku.edu This event is free and open to the public. |
