Description: This camera collection was donated by the late Colonel Thomas B. Card. Thomas Card attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute as a freshman, from September 1916 - February 1917. Although he did not complete his B.S. degree at WPI, it held great significance to him throughout his life. His camera collection was donated to Worcester Polytechnic in 1977.

The Thomas Card Camera Collection items range from the mid-1800s through the 1970s. The collection includes seven cameras, a photograph enlarger, lenses, shutters, colored lens filters, lens adapters, photography accessories, and flash light bulbs. The camera types range from the older box cameras to a newer Zeiss Ikon. Some of the highlights in the collection are the older lens shutters, the press cameras, and the photograph enlarger. Thomas Card also gave over 100 books to WPI, eighteen of which were made before the 1900s.
Archives exhibition curated and photographed by Rachel Katz '09.

There will be a reception on Friday, September 9, 4-6 p.m.
